
Moldova plans to receive grants in the amount of 2 billion 453.7 million lei to the budget in 2022, which is almost 2 times more than the previously approved figure.
This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of Finance to the draft amendments to the Law on the state budget for 2022, which will soon be considered and approved by the government. In particular, it is planned to increase the total amount of grant receipts by 1.9 times (+1 billion 135.8 million lei) - from 1 billion 317.9 million to 2 billion 453.7 million lei. As noted, in general, in 2022, it is planned to receive grants to support the budget in the amount of 1 billion 465.4 million lei (the equivalent of 68 million euros) instead of the previously expected 440 million lei (20 million euros). In addition, this year it is planned to receive grants to the budget for financing projects from external sources in the amount of 988.3 million lei ($52.5 million) instead of the previously forecasted 877.9 million lei ($46.8 million). In particular, to support the budget of Moldova, it is planned to receive the first tranche of a grant in the amount of 323.3 million lei (15 million euros) from the new macro-financial assistance program, as well as budgetary support from the European Commission (DG NEAR) in the amount of 1 billion 142.1 million lei (53 million euros) to reduce the impact of the multiple crises experienced by Moldova.
