Moldova will receive a 1.55 billion yen (15 million euros) grant from Japan for a project to improve firefighting equipment.

This is stipulated in a grant agreement between the Moldovan and Japanese governments, signed in Chisinau on November 26, 2021, ratified Thursday by the Moldovan parliament in order to expand Japanese economic cooperation (the Project for Improvement of Firefighting Equipment). The funds under the agreement will be used to finance the purchase of 19 firefighting and rescue vehicles with extendable ladders, as well as training for Moldovan firefighters and rescue workers. The direct beneficiary of the project will be the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the representatives of the institution, the capacity of the new special equipment will allow serving about 1.3 million citizens. The term of the agreement is until April 30, 2027, but it can be extended by mutual agreement of the competent bodies of the two governments. // 17.03.2022 - InfoMarket
