In Moldova, a procedure has been launched for the purchase of services for the audit of the historical debt of Moldovagaz for gas consumed on the right bank of the Dniester.
This was announced by the Public Property Agency, noting that it had prepared the necessary documentation regarding the procedure for public procurement of services for the audit of Moldovagaz's debt to Gazprom and Factoring Finance for natural gas supplied to consumers on the right bank of the Dniester. The notice of intent and terms of reference were sent to the Public Procurement Agency for publication in the Public Procurement Bulletin and the Official Journal of the European Union. The documents will be published tomorrow and will be available at the following links: https://tender.gov.md/ro/bap; https://eur-lex.europa.eu/oj/direct-access.html?locale=ro. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu earlier expressed hope that the international company that will audit the historical debt of Moldovagaz to Gazprom and Factoring Finance for gas supplied to the right bank of the Dniester will be able to complete audit before May 1. If necessary, the period can be slightly extended. The issue of auditing the historical debt of Moldovagaz will be discussed by the parties during the regular meeting of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation scheduled for March. Earlier, Andrei Spinu noted that until the completion of this audit, the Moldovan side would not discuss the issue of paying off the historic debt to Gazprom. Previously, Gazprom spoke about the historical debt for gas from the right bank of the Dniester in the amount of more than $700 million. “We agreed to conduct an audit to find out how this historical debt was formed and what is its real amount. Then "Moldovagaz" and "Gazprom" will have to find a compromise to restructure the debt within 5 years," said Andrei Spinu. Herewith, he noted that Chisinau does not discuss with Moscow the repayment of the debt for gas consumed in Transnistria. // 27.01.2022 — InfoMarket
