Termoelectrica sent a request to NAER to increase tariffs for heat in Chisinau from 1122 to 1772 lei per gigacaloria (+ 58%).
Termoelectrica is asking the National Agency for Energy Regulation to urgently adjust the tariffs for electricity and heating produced in accordance with the new prices for natural gas, in order to prevent the accumulation of debts by the company, which could lead to its bankruptcy, the company said. The company noted that Termoelectrica purchases about 32.7% of the total volume of natural gas supplied by Moldovagaz, and the current tariff does not take into account the sharp rise in the price of natural gas. In particular, the natural gas purchased by the company has risen in price by about 2.2 times (by 115.3%) - from 4018 to 8650.2 lei per 1,000 cubic meters without VAT. As a result, it is proposed that the cost of heat energy for consumers should increase by 650 lei per Gcal - from 1122 to 1772 lei per Gcal (excluding VAT).
