Independent traders will be assigned an IDNO by July 10

The State Tax Service (SFS) announced that amendments to the Tax Code came into effect on April 30, under which individual independent entrepreneurs will be provided with personal data protection through the assignment of a State Identification Number (IDNO). The changes do not require any additional action on the part of independent entrepreneurs already registered with the State Tax Service. In this regard, the tax authority, in conjunction with the Public Services Agency, will ensure the transfer of information necessary for assigning IDNOs. The State Tax Service clarified that independent entrepreneurs registered with the State Tax Service before July 1 will be entered by the Public Services Agency into the State Register of Legal Entities, and a taxpayer identification number (IDNO) will be assigned to them by July 10. After assigning the state identification number to an independent entrepreneur, the State Tax Service will send the individual confirmation of tax registration. Subsequently, independent entrepreneurs will be able to re-register their cash registers based on the assigned IDNO. The State Tax Service also clarifies that these changes apply exclusively to individuals engaged in independent commercial activities and do not affect other categories of persons engaged in entrepreneurial activities (including freelancers) who already have a taxpayer identification number (IDNO). // 04.05.2026 — InfoMarket
