State Tax Service (SFS): Fraudsters using official tax authority symbols are sending false messages via Viber, Telegram, and other messengers

The State Tax Service has issued a warning, urging taxpayers to be vigilant. In particular, fraudsters pose as SFS employees and, referring to non-existent articles of the Administrative Code and providing fake addresses that do not belong to the SFS, inform taxpayers that they have allegedly been fined 20,000 lei. The State Tax Service emphasizes that these messages have no connection with the institution and that the identity of the service is being used illegally. The agency urged people to ignore such messages and immediately report them to law enforcement agencies, as well as to the State Tax Service or other authorized bodies. The State Tax Service also reported that the agency's official pages are available on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, but there is no page on TikTok. // 15.07.2025 – InfoMarket.
