The Ministry of Finance aims that the rate of excise duty on gasoline in Moldova will amount to 6496 lei per ton in 2021 against 5960 lei per ton this year (+ 8.9%); diesel fuel - 2734 lei against 2508 lei per ton in 2020 (+ 9%), and liquefied gas - 3759 lei against 3580 lei per ton this year (+ 5%). At the same time, the growth of excise taxes on oil products will continue in the next two years: in 2022 and 2023, the excise tax on gasoline will amount to 7082 lei per ton and, accordingly, 7719 lei per ton; excise tax on diesel fuel - 2980 and 3248 lei per ton; liquefied gas - 3947 and 4144 lei per ton, respectively. Excise tax on fuel oil in 2021-2023 will remain at the current level - 409 lei per ton. According to the calculations of the Ministry of Finance, the increase in excise taxes will bring 223 million lei to the budget. In the draft tax policy for 2021, the Ministry of Finance provides data on the minimum excise taxes levied on the import of petroleum products in the EU countries.
