“Green” investments will contribute to Moldova’s modernization and its gradual alignment with European Union standards - European Commissioner Jessica Rosvall

The European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience, and a Competitive Circular Economy made this statement while speaking in Chisinau at Moldova’s first forum on “green” finance and investment. According to the EU Delegation in Moldova, this event was a continuation of the dialogue launched at the EU-Moldova Investment Conference held on June 4, where investment plans and project initiatives totaling up to 641 million euros were announced. Jessica Rosvall noted that “green” investments involve more rational water resource management, improving energy efficiency, and preparing communities for the future. They contribute to Moldova’s modernization and gradual alignment with European Union standards. In Chisinau, the European Commissioner met with President Maia Sandu. Discussions focused on environmental protection, the rational use of water resources, climate change resilience, and reforms that bring Moldova closer to European Union standards. Jessica Rosvall emphasized that for Moldova, this means access to European environmental data, more evidence-based public policy, cooperation among experts, and more effective planning of “green” investments—ranging from air quality and climate change adaptation to the circular economy. In a separate video message to the citizens of Moldova, the European Commissioner also voiced her support for Moldova’s European future, noting that environmental protection is of great importance. And this is not only about having the appropriate legislation and the capacity to implement it, but also about funding. “This is important not only from the perspective of EU legislation, but also for the people. It’s about people’s health, competitiveness, and job creation, as well as clean water and clean air,” emphasized Jessica Rosvall. // 29.06.2026 — InfoMarket
