According to information provided to the InfoMarket agency by the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova’s trade deficit in April alone amounted to 642.5 million euros, which is 8.1 million euros (1.3%) higher than the previous month’s figure and 114.4 million euros (21.7%) higher than the figure for April of the previous year. Overall, in January–April 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, Moldova’s trade deficit with European Union countries increased by 4.7% to 1 billion 187.4 million euros, with CIS countries it decreased by 17.9% to 35.7 million euros, and with other countries it rose by 2.6% to 1 billion 024.1 million euros. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova’s largest trade deficit for the first four months of 2026 was with Romania—531.9 million euros (+2.1% compared to the same period in 2025). At the same time, Moldova’s trade deficit with China amounted to 462.7 million euros (+15.8%), with Ukraine—215.2 million euros (-6.6%), with Germany—161.7 million euros (-4.4%), Poland—75.5 million euros (-5.3%), France—64.8 million euros (-5.8%), Hungary—57.7 million euros (+16.7%), Croatia – 51.1 million euros (up 1.9 times), Italy – 50.7 million euros (-10.3%), Russia – 47.9 million euros (+44.6%), and Spain – 45.9 million euros (-10.6%). // 16.06.2026 — InfoMarket
