He explained that the National Bank's increase in the base rate is aimed specifically at curbing so-called imported inflation, which is essentially caused by rising prices outside Moldova. The Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization noted that the authorities are still analyzing economic indicators for the first months of this year, and a clearer picture of economic development will become available in the coming weeks. "We are still finalizing the figures. In a few weeks, we will have a clear picture, including of economic growth," said Eugen Osmochescu. He noted the presence of signs of economic growth, confirmed by statistical data from the National Bureau of Statistics and estimates from the NBM.
