Moldova Launches Competition Coordination Platform

The meeting, organized by the World Bank and dedicated to the launch of the Competition Coordination Platform, was attended by representatives of the World Bank, the European Commission, the Competition Council of Moldova, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Bureau for European Integration, as well as national experts on competition issues. According to Alina Cebotarev, Chair of the Competition Council, the launch of the Competition Coordination Platform marks an important milestone in Moldova’s EU accession process, providing a functional framework for dialogue between the competition authority and international development partners, which will contribute to the smooth progress of activities carried out during the accession process. The main objectives of the Competition Coordination Platform include optimizing communication between national institutions and external partners on legislative and institutional reforms, ensuring and synchronizing support among development partners to strengthen the capacity of the Competition Council, as well as monitoring progress in fulfilling commitments undertaken under Chapter 8 of the negotiations (Competition Policy). “This initiative is a strong signal of trust from our external partners. The platform will allow us to manage resources more effectively and accelerate the harmonization of national legislation with European standards, ensuring a fair and transparent competitive environment in Moldova,” said Alina Cebotarev. During the discussions, participants addressed reform priorities and the need for effective cooperation to support the alignment of the national regulatory framework and practices with EU standards. // 11.05.2026 — InfoMarket.
