This is stated in the National Bank of Moldova's materials regarding the latest decision of its Executive Committee to increase the base rate applied to key short-term monetary policy operations by 1.5 percentage points, from 5% to 6.5% per annum. According to the NBM, annual inflation in March 2026 amounted to 5.81%, 0.75 percentage points higher than the previous month, and remained within ±1.5 percentage points of the medium-term inflation target of 5% for the third consecutive month.
