Moldova’s first European Digital Innovation Hub has opened in Chisinau

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Hub will provide companies with access to testing services, consultations, and support in finding funding opportunities. Through this Hub, Moldova is connecting to a European network of over 150 European digital innovation centers, which facilitates the exchange of expertise and technologies. The project aims to digitize small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the public sector by providing access to cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to enhance competitiveness in the European market. At the national level, at least 110 SMEs and 30 government agencies will receive assistance. During the project launch event, a study conducted in collaboration with the Economic Council under the Prime Minister was presented, focusing on the resilience of Moldova’s economy compared to that of the European Union. It highlights sectors supporting economic growth, three of which are key drivers, as well as five other important sectors. The information and communications technology industry is particularly highlighted, having contributed approximately 7% to economic growth in 2025 and confirmed its strategic role in the modernization of the economy. The launch of the European Digital Innovation Hub marks an important step in Moldova’s integration into the European digital ecosystem, strengthening the capacity of companies and government agencies to adopt innovative technologies and leverage the opportunities of the digital single market. // 30.04.2026 — InfoMarket
