Moldova Business Week 2024 resulted in millions of investments and numerous opportunities for business development - Investment Agency

As noted by the agency, in particular, the most important international economic forum of the country - Moldova Business Week 2024" brought together investors, entrepreneurs and economic experts from more than 20 countries in Moldova. 18 events held in 4 strategic economic regions - Chisinau, Balti, Ungheni and Edinet - contributed to successful cooperation, and a number of companies announced new investments directly from the event platform. The forum presented key industries with growth and development potential, including the agri-food sector, automotive and electronics, energy and infrastructure, information technology, tourism, non-residential real estate, pharmaceuticals, medical tourism and winemaking. Moldova Business Week 2024 created the perfect conditions for networking, collaboration and exchange of best practices through thematic conferences, study visits and B2B meetings and attracted a total of 2,136 physical participants from over 20 countries, including Romania, Ukraine, Canada, China, France, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Turkey, Croatia, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden and Latvia. The event was followed online by 508,037 unique users, and among the participants there were also 562 representatives of small and medium enterprises from Moldova, who took part in all the events organized within Moldova Business Week 2024. Within the Business Week, new investments of 1.5 million euros from ROCA Industry in the field of construction materials and doubling of the production capacity of the plant in Vulcanesti were announced. EMS – EBS Electric – an investor from Romania announced the opening of a new electronic systems plant. BSW Tech launched an intelligent mobile application for farmers, aimed at optimizing agricultural activities and increasing the productivity of local farmers, contributing to the modernization of the agricultural sector. In Ungheni, for the development of ecotourism, it was announced that 20 hectares of the Plaiul Fagului Nature Reserve will be allocated for the development of tourist trails: the project has the potential to attract foreign tourists interested in ecological and authentic experiences, thus contributing to the increase of strategic investments in local tourism and the economic development of the region. In the field of pharmaceutical and medical tourism, a foreign distributor expressed its readiness to conclude contracts with two more local manufacturers. At the same time, at the forum dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry and medical tourism, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Moldovan Association of Medical Tourism and the Moldovan Association of Medicines Manufacturers, promoting synergies for future initiatives. Brand Finance presented the results of a global survey in which more than 170 thousand citizens from all over the world took part, according to which the country brand Moldova was ranked 118th in the Global Soft Power Index. Moldova Business Week 2024 was organized by the Moldovan Investment Agency in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, in collaboration with 12 representative business associations from various sectors of the economy.
