Moldova will attract investments of almost 200 million euros for the construction of large wind and photovoltaic parks.

This was stated by Energy Minister Victor Parlicov at a meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu. As the press service of the head of state reported, renewable energy became one of the important topics on the agenda. The head of the Ministry of Energy noted that last year the installed capacity of power plants producing energy from renewable sources doubled, and in the near future the authorities will attract investments of almost 200 million euros in the country for the construction of large wind and photovoltaic parks. Maia Sandu emphasized that the government will invest about 1.4 billion lei in the next 3 years to help residents of almost 9 thousand houses reduce energy costs by up to 40%. President highly appreciated that following the implementation of the Rabla pentru Electrocasnice program (“Replacing junk with household appliances”), more than 36 thousand households received vouchers for more economical household appliances and LED light bulbs. Earlier, Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said that a tender for the construction of wind and photovoltaic parks in Moldova with a total capacity of 165 MW will be announced this week. Through this auction, investments of approximately 190 million euros are expected in the construction of wind and photovoltaic parks. It is expected that once the process of connecting power plants is completed, the share of energy produced from renewable sources will increase from 10% to 16.6%, which will significantly contribute to meeting the commitment to reach a 27% share of the country's total consumption by 2030, target established in the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan, developed with the support of the European Union. According to simplified participation requirements, tender winners will receive a fixed price for the electricity produced, guaranteed for 15 years. The guaranteed fixed price will be determined during the auction, but it cannot exceed the maximum price of 1.5 lei/kWh for wind energy and 1.67 lei/kWh for solar energy, established by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). A total capacity of 165 MW has been allocated for large renewable capacity, divided by technology – 105 MW for wind and 60 MW for photovoltaics. Acceptance of applications, technical and financial proposals will begin in September. // 05.07.2024 — InfoMarket
