The technical project for the construction of the 400 kV Vulcanesti-Chisinau transmission line is at the final stage and the construction of the line itself will start in the spring of 2023.
Andrei Spinu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, has informed about this, noting that the R-30 type supports to be installed for the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau 400 kV transmission line meet the technical requirements and will withstand the weather conditions specific for Moldova. This week R-30 supports have passed type tests at the test station of the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) in Bangalore (India). Similar tests were carried out this September when the stability of R-NS type supports, which will account for 80% of the total number of supports to be installed on the 400kV Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead line, was established. This overhead transmission line will be built with several types of towers: R-NS, R-30 and R-60. The last type of towers will pass type tests in January 2023. "The project is at the final stage of design of the overhead line Vulcanesti-Chisinau, the construction of which will start next spring," Andrei Spinu wrote on his page in the social network. As InfoMarket news agency earlier reported, a 27 million euros contract for the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau high-voltage line has been signed with the Indian company KEC International. Its construction is expected to be completed in 2024. The line will be built within the framework of a 260 million euros project on interconnection of the electricity networks of Moldova and Romania, the goal of which is to ensure energy security of the country by connecting Moldova with the European Union's energy market via power lines and strengthening domestic energy transportation networks. The project is to be implemented until 2024 with the support of the EBRD (80 million euros loan), EIB (80 million euros loan), International Development Association under the World Bank Group (61 million euros loan) and the European Union (39.4 million euros grant). // 14.12.2022 - InfoMarket.
