The pandemic provoked an economic crisis and an increase in prices for food and other goods, - Natalia Gavrilita.
Presenting a report on the government's activities for 100 days of the mandate, the Prime Minister noted that during the period of global restrictions in 2020, most shipping and air transport companies faced a crisis in the industry, as a result of which the prices for the delivery of products increased. To overcome the crisis, the Moldovan government has taken a number of measures within 100 days of its work. Among them, the increase in the minimum pension to 2000 lei, and the indexation of all pensions and social benefits by 3.86%. Until October 1, 2021, the minimum pension in the country averaged about 1188 lei. More than 300 thousand pensioners became beneficiaries of the increase in the minimum pension. Also in connection with the rise in gas prices (NAER approved an increase from November 1 of the preliminary tariff for end consumers for the supply of natural gas by 2.4 times: from 4298 to 10260 lei per 1,000 cubic meters, excluding VAT), the government approved a package of social assistance totaling 1.6 billion lei to pay compensations for gas and heat to all consumers, as well as benefits for the poor during the cold season. Compensation for gas will be paid to all household consumers within 5 months, depending on the consumed volume. In particular, it is planned that for the first 50 cubic meters of gas, consumers will pay 6.8 lei per cubic meter of gas, and for volumes from 50 to 150 cubic meters- 7.9 lei per cubic meter, and the difference is compensated for from the state budget. Thus, for the first 50 cubic meters the government will compensate 4.3 lei from the gas tariff, and from 50 to 150 cubic meters - 3.2 lei from the tariff for 1 cu. m of gas. In addition, the authorities partially compensate for the payment for heat energy. So when consuming the first gigacalorie, they are compensated for 2/3 of the increased cost. The maximum compensation for heating will amount to 450 lei per month. In addition, it was decided to increase from 500 to 700 lei the amount of benefits paid to low-income families during the cold season. Natalia Gavrilita also noted the fact that they managed to agree with Gazprom on gas supplies at a purchase price 2 times lower than the market price - $ 450 per 1,000 cubic meters. Among the priorities of the government for the subsequent period, the Prime Minister noted the continuation of the fight against corruption and money laundering, the way out of the economic and pandemic crisis. In this context, she noted that in 2021 Moldova received grants from external partners totaling 36.4 million euros for the implementation of a number of projects in the field of infrastructure economics, medicine, etc., and also received an additional 60 million euros to exit the energy sector crisis. In addition, the European Commission will allocate 600 million euros for the economic recovery of Moldova in the form of macro-financial assistance, grants and investments. Also, there was approved a new IMF assistance program for $ 564 million.// 11.11.2021 - InfoMarket
