AmCham Moldova asks for the intensification of activities related to the signing by Moldova of the Convention for the avoidance of double taxation with the United States.
This appeal was sent by the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham Moldova) to the Minister of Finance Dumitru Budianschi. The letter emphasizes that the United States is an important development and commercial partner for Moldova, and these relations are enshrined in numerous agreements in various fields, and also confirmed by the assistance that the US government provides for the development of the economy and public administration systems of Moldova. It is noted that for 10 years AmCham Moldova was one of the organizations that drew attention to the absence of any document on the avoidance of double taxation between Moldova and the United States. This is not conducive to the growth of trade exchange and the growth of direct investment between the two countries. It is noted that today Moldova does not have a Convention on the avoidance of double taxation signed with the United States, while the Convention on Tax Matters signed in 1973between the United States and the USSR is not applied by Moldova; it is unilaterally applied by the United States. In this regard, AmCham Moldova asks the Ministry of Finance to intensify activities related to the signing of the Convention between Moldova and the United States for the avoidance of double taxation, or to ensure the ratification of the Convention between the United States and the USSR, with a number of important amendments. // 26.08.2021 - InfoMarket
