NAER announced that it was not involved in the recent increase in fuel prices in Moldova.
This is stated in the comments of the energy regulator on the rise in prices for oil products in our country. In particular, in connection with some comments that arose in the public space regarding the evolution of prices for petroleum products, the National Agency for Energy Regulation reminded that since March 2019 it no longer sets price caps for petroleum products. The energy regulator emphasized that, in accordance with the earlier amendments to the Law on the Oil Products Market, license holders independently set and change retail prices for basic oil products and liquefied gas, taking into account their consumption, costs and operating expenses of operators associated with the sale of these products, in accordance with the established standards and norms, including the annual level of profitability not exceeding 10%, and NAER only monitors that companies do not exceed the rate of return. Additional information on the formation of prices for petroleum products can be obtained directly from the companies themselves. // 19.01.2021 — InfoMarket.
