Moldova extends for another 2 years the Public Finance Management Development Strategy for 2013-2020.
Moldovan government adopted the corresponding resolution at a meeting on Wednesday. The change in the timing of the implementation of the Strategy was required due to the fact that some of the measures could not be implemented due to the political crisis in 2019 and the restrictive measures introduced in connection with the pandemic in 2020.The main part of the measures in the Strategy remained, some measures were updated. According to the Strategy, the development of information systems in the public finance management as well as tax and customs administration will continue in Moldova, new systems and modules will be developed. It is planned to finalize the legislation in the field of budget planning, accounting and financial reporting, in the field of public procurement. The planning system of state control in the tax, customs and financial areas will be improved; it will be carried out on the basis of risk analysis. It provides for the implementation of teaching and vocational training programs for personnel related to public finance (audit, public procurement, etc.), as well as the development of international cooperation, etc. As expected, it will take about 1.5 billion lei a year for the implementation of the measures planned in the Strategy for 2021-2022. // 21.01.2021 - InfoMarket.
