Moldova's external state debt increased by $180.55 million (+4.88%) in January-September 2024, amounting to $3 bln 876.76 million as of the end of September
The Ministry of Finance reported that, in particular, in 9 months of 2024 net external financing amounted to $156.41 million, as the volume of new loans received in January-September 2024 amounted to $427.05 million and was higher than payments on the principal amount of external debt for the period ($270.64 million). At the same time, in 9 months of 2024, the positive value of fluctuations of the US dollar exchange rate against other currencies amounted to $24.14 million and, as a result, in January-September 2024, the external state debt in US dollar terms increased by $180.55 million (+4.88%) - up to $3 billion 876.76 million as of the end of September this year.
