Revenues of the national public budget in 2019 increased by 8.5% compared to the previous year.
According to preliminary estimates, the revenues of the national public budget of Moldova in 2019 amounted to 62.9 billion lei, which is 8.5% (4.9 billion lei) more than in 2018. These data were presented by the Minister of Finance Sergiu Puscuta at an expanded meeting of Collegiums of the Ministry of Finance. According to him, the Ministry of Finance has taken all necessary measures to achieve the goals set for last year. Last year, fiscal policy was aimed at creating an effective framework to ensure budget revenues and allocate funds for the implementation of vital programs, including in the social sphere and in education, as well as to stimulate economic growth. Fiscal policy measures were aligned with obligations to ensure fiscal stability, without prejudice to basic expenses. Sergiu Puscuta also noted that in 2019 the coordination of technical assistance was transferred to the Ministry of Finance, thus, the department was returned to the role of a national body for cross-border and transnational cooperation programs funded by the European Union. This gave impetus to the more active participation of Moldova in these programs. As a result, the level of absorption / capitalization of resources increased in projects financed from external sources, from 34% in 2018 to 61% in 2019. In addition, were concluded and signed a number of external assistance agreements for strategic projects, and was launched the process of developing concepts for new important projects.//04.02.2020 — InfoMarket.
