In Moldova, local authorities will receive more money and financial independence from 2020
As expected, in particular, from January 1, 2020, all income tax revenues from individuals will remain in the budgets of mayoralties of rural settlements. Currently, only 75% of these revenues remain in local government administration. In the case of cities and municipalities, this ratio is 50%. This is provided for by the corresponding project, which was presented on Friday at a meeting in the government with the participation of Prime Minister Maia Sandu, Finance Minister Natalia Gavrilita and Executive Director of the Congress of Local Authorities Viorel Furdui. The discussions took place in the context of the development of the Budget Law for 2020. “We are working on a budget of solidarity and justice, a budget that will increase the degree of financial independence of most of the mayors of the country. Thus, they will not be heavily dependent on transfers from the central budget. The money will go to local development, ”said Maia Sandu. “In addition, financial support funds from the state tax on legal entities will be compensated from the state budget. Thus, settlements will only benefit from these changes and will be able to implement social projects that people need in different places, ”said Natalia Gavrilita.//11.10.2019 — InfoMarket.
