According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in January-March 2019 the average nominal salary in Chisinau municipality amounted to 8102.6 lei, increasing by 14.9% compared with the same period of 2018 and exceeding by 17% the average salary in the country (6923 lei). In the public sector, the average monthly salary was 8789.7 lei, which is 19.3% more than in the first quarter of 2018; in the real sector, wages were lower - an average of 7964.8 lei, which is 14% more than in the same period last year.
