In Moldova, will be increased by 4.9% scholarships and the amount of social assistance provided to students of vocational, higher and postgraduate education.
The corresponding draft resolution was submitted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research to public consultations. The document proposes the allocation of an additional 12.5 million lei from the state budget for 2019 to increase scholarships, other types of social assistance to university students, students of post-secondary and post-secondary non-tertiary vocational education and secondary vocational schools and people studying in the postgraduate education system. For example, scholarships for students of higher education (I and II cycles, integrated education) will increase from 660-840 lei, depending on the category, to 690-880 lei, and for students of post-secondary and post-secondary non-tertiary vocational education - from 505-660 up to 530-690 lei. The scholarships paid in the system of secondary vocational education will increase from 370-485 to 390-510 lei. Doctoral scholarships will increase from 1100-1265 to 1155-1280 lei. Also the size of the deserved grants for students of higher educational institutions will increase. For example, the size of the highest scholarship of the Bursa Republicii will increase from 1455 to 1525 lei.
