In Moldova, the state will guarantee a minimum period of 5 years for receiving by the spouse of an old-age pension in case of death of the beneficiary.
This is envisaged by a bill that Moldovan President Igor Dodon sent to parliament as part of a package of social initiatives by the head of state aimed at improving the level of social protection of pensioners and low-income people. According to the bill, in the event of the premature death of the recipient of this type of pension, the spouse will receive a monthly allowance in the amount of the pension upon reaching the maximum age before the expiration of the 5-year period from the moment the recipient receives this pension. According to statistics, the average length of time for receiving a pension by people who have not lived 5 years since retirement is only 2.6 years. According to the president, this draft law will be considered at the autumn session of parliament. // 11.09.2019 — InfoMarket.
