In 2020, some categories of citizens will be able to rely on social “energy” assistance in the amount of 600 lei per year.
This is provided for in the bill on energy social support in 2020, which was approved at a meeting of the State Chancellery on Thursday. According to the document, this type of social assistance will be available to pensioners whose pension does not exceed 1,500 lei, as well as beneficiaries of all types of state social support, with the exception of recipients of care, support and supervision benefits. It is planned that in 2020 the amount of energy social assistance will amount to 50 lei per month and will be paid by the National Social Insurance Fund. According to the National Social Insurance Fund, based on data from October 2019, the total number of beneficiaries of this assistance is estimated at almost 400 thousand people. In particular, more than 334.1 thousand pensioners receive a pension below 1500 lei, another 65.7 thousand beneficiaries receive various types of social benefits. Thus, the implementation of the bill in 2020 will require about 240 million lei. The costs of the payment of energy social assistance will be carried out through transfers from the state budget to the state social insurance budget. They were planned in the medium-term budgetary framework for 2020-2022. //08.11.2019 — InfoMarket.
