According to the National Bureau of Statistics, out of the total permits issued in 2009 (61.5% of the total) accounted for residential buildings, and 1257 (38.5%) - for non-residential ones. At the same time, the number of permits for the construction of residential buildings in 2018, in comparison with 2017, decreased by 12.5%, and for the construction of non-residential buildings - decreased by 22.4%. According to the NBS, in 2018, 1689 permits were issued for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings in the cities of Moldova and 1577 permits - for construction in rural areas. At the same time, the number of building permits issued in cities in this period decreased by 16.7%, compared with 2017, and in rural areas - decreased by 16.5%. In 2018, most of the permits for the construction of residential buildings were traditionally issued in Chisinau - 888 against 928 units a year earlier (-40 units). In the “Center” development region, the number of issued permits for the construction of residential buildings decreased from 743 to 558 units (-185 units), “North” - from 323 to 281 units (-42 units), “South” - from 194 to 190 units (-4 units), and in the ATU Gagauzia - from 108 to 92 units (-16 units). According to official statistics, the number of permits issued for the construction of non-residential premises in Chisinau increased over the year from 180 to 202 units (+22 units).
