The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure has developed a regulation and an action plan for emergencies in the electricity market

The Ministry submitted for public discussions the relevant government decree. The project is designed to create the necessary legal framework for ensuring the security of electricity supply in Moldova, the efficient operation of the electricity market and ensuring its sustainability. The document provides for the implementation of a number of measures that will prevent the restriction or interruptions in the supply of electricity for consumers, and in case of emergency - will allow the resumption of deliveries as soon as possible. The project describes the actions of the transmission and distribution system operators, electricity producers and suppliers, as well as the central state authority for managing the electricity market in case of a normal operation of the country's power system, in case of an alarm or emergency situation, and in case of collapse (partial or complete discontinuance of supplies electricity). Also, the necessary conditions will be created for monitoring the security of electricity supplies to the country and measures are elaborated to prevent the occurrence of such situations. It is planned that once every two years, until July 31, the central authority in charge of the electricity sector will report on monitoring the security of electricity supplies. This document will be published in Monitorul Oficial, and also be submitted to the secretariat of the Energy Community.
