NAER has not yet received any information from oil market operators about changes in fuel prices.
This is stated in the comment of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER) made by the energy regulator in connection with the increase in retail fuel prices. The document notes that in accordance with applicable law, in the event of a change in company prices within 3 days from the date of application of the new prices, they must submit to the agency the calculations that led to their change. NAER recalled that, in accordance with the amendments made earlier to the Law on the Market for Petroleum Products, licensees set and change retail prices for basic petroleum products and liquefied gas, based on consumption and costs related to the sale of relevant products, in accordance with national accounting standards, including the annual rate of return provided by the methodology, which does not exceed 10%. The energy regulator indicated that the retail prices of basic petroleum products and liquefied gas are calculated on the basis of the following components: the import price of petroleum products; the amount of excise taxes and value added tax applied in accordance with the Tax Code of Moldova; commercial and administrative expenses associated with the retail sale of basic petroleum products and liquefied gas, profitability rate. The NAER also reminded that the fiscal policy for 2020 provides for an increase in excise taxes on gasoline to 5960 lei per ton (+ 10%), diesel fuel to 2508 lei per ton (+ 10%), and for liquefied gas to 3580 lei per ton (+ 5%).//17.01.2020 — InfoMarket.
