The Moldovan government has approved the average monthly salary for the economy, projected for 2018, at the level of 6150 lei.
This is more than the indicator approved for 2017 (5.6 thousand lei), by 550 lei (+ 9.8%). As the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Svetlana Cebotari noted, the level of the average monthly salary approved by the Cabinet for 2018 was calculated taking into account the macroeconomic indicators predicted by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure for 2018-2020. The approved size of the predicted average monthly salary for the economy is used in determining the calculated base of social benefits, compulsory state social insurance contributions, and is also taken into account in the annual review of salaries for teachers. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the third quarter of 2017, the average nominal accrued salary in Moldova was 5809.1 lei, an increase of 11.1% compared to the same quarter of 2016. Meanwhile, in real terms, taking into account inflation, the average salary increased by 3.4%. At the same time, the average salary in the budgetary sector in the third quarter of 2017 was 4,990.7 lei, which is 10.4% more than in the same period of the previous year, and in the real economy sector it increased by 11%, up to 6132,2 lei. // 11/01/2018 — InfoMarket.
