The IMF will continue to support Moldova in implementing reforms aimed at economic growth and attracting investment in the country, - Ruben Atoyan.
The new head of the IMF Mission to Moldova said this at a meeting with the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici. According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Ruben Atoyan noted Moldova's achievements in the banking and financial sector, improving the financial situation in commercial banks, as well as economic policies promoted by the government. In turn, Chiril Gaburici highly appreciated the support of the IMF mission experts in strengthening and developing the banking and financial industry. "Moldova will continue to pay special attention to the program of cooperation with the IMF and will focus on the implementation of reforms. We will do our best to maintain the positive dynamics of economic growth achieved in 2017 - 4.5%, as well as to ensure the growth of investments in the economy of the country, the creation of new jobs, the launch of social programs aimed at improving the living standards of the population, "- the minister said. During the meeting, the sides discussed progress in the implementation of the economic program supported by the IMF, the situation in the banking and energy sectors, public finance, as well as reforms promoted by the government. Chiril Gaburici presented the priorities of the ministry, including attraction of investments and development of IT industry, road infrastructure, implementation of regulatory reform.
