Summa is investing €40 million in the construction of two hotels, Moxy Hotels and Residence Inn, and a high-tech medical center, Medpark City Clinic
According to Atilla Șanci, Summa's Regional Director for Moldova, following the successful completion of the Radisson Blu and Courtyard by Marriott, the investor is embarking on a new integrated project—the construction of two hotels under the Marriott International brand: Moxy Hotels and Residence Inn by Marriott. He clarified that these are not simply two hotels of different formats, but rather part of a multifunctional complex that also includes the high-tech center, Medpark City Clinic. This approach reflects Summa's strategy: moving from standalone buildings to developing integrated ecosystems capable of simultaneously serving business, tourism, and medical services for both local and international visitors. "The investment in the project will amount to €40 million, and its completion is expected in the first quarter of 2028," he explained. According to the concept, Moxy Hotels is aimed at a younger audience and a modern urban lifestyle, while Residence Inn by Marriott is designed for longer-term guests. Meanwhile, the next-generation medical hub, Medpark City Clinic, will bring significant added value through advanced diagnostics and medical services, wellness programs, and comprehensive medical tourism offerings. "Taken together, this will create a new format for the Moldovan hospitality industry, previously unheard of in the country," noted Atilla Șanci. Moxy Hotels will feature a vibrant, modern design with an emphasis on communal spaces, a vibrant atmosphere, and technology, offering compact yet functional rooms and active areas for socializing, while Residence Inn by Marriott will provide spacious apartments with kitchens, work areas, and a homelike atmosphere for extended stays. Medpark City Clinic will operate as an independent unit, but will be structurally integrated into Medpark International Hospital—the country's leading private medical institution. The center will offer services in personalized medicine, longevity programs, functional medicine, rehabilitation, and advanced preventative treatment programs. It will combine cutting-edge medical practices, high standards of care, international quality, and specialists with international and European certifications. Atilla Șanci emphasized that in this project, Summa is applying the same principle as in its other facilities—a combination of international standards and local resources. To date, the company has employed more than 1,250 people by attracting local contractors and providing them with the opportunity to learn international chain standards. The new complex will create approximately 300 new jobs, and the direct participation of Marriott International will further enhance staff training. Summa has been operating in Moldova since 1996, and its investments total €300 million. Summa’s largest projects in Moldova are Medpark International Hospital, Chisinau Arena, Radisson Blu Leogrand Hotel Chisinau and Courtyard by Marriott Chisinau, Shopping MallDova, etc. The company plans to invest another 300 million euros in new large-scale projects in 2025-2028, including the construction of a new shopping center, an Oncology Diagnostic Center with the expansion of Medpark International Hospital and the development of Medpark City Clinic, a 20 MW solar power plant, premium real estate, and the Wine Hotel & Country Club agritourism project.// 02.12.2025 – InfoMarket.
