The United Nations Industrial Development framework program (UNIDO) has been launched in Moldova for the 2019-2023 period with a budget exceeding 29 million euros

During the official launch of the program, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Iulia Costin noted the importance of this cooperation, recalling that the government and UNIDO signed an agreement on the implementation of the framework program on December 21, 2018 in Vienna. The framework program will attract a total of 30 million euros to the inclusive and sustainable development of the Moldovan industry. The main components of the program are enhancing the competitiveness of industry, access to markets, promoting innovation and investment, productive employment in rural communities and stimulating entrepreneurship, sustainable energy and environmental management. Iulia Costin noted that the main goal of the program is to stimulate the development of Moldovan industry, increase value added in this industry, stimulate job creation and increase profitability and efficiency of this sector of the economy. The UNIDO country program is consistent with the government’s objectives for the development of the industrial sector and the UN goals for sustainable development. In 2019, such industries as the automotive industry, light industry and food industry demonstrated the greatest dynamics and growth. UNIDO is a specialized UN agency whose efforts are focused on alleviating poverty by increasing productivity. UNIDO industrial cooperation centers have been opened in different countries of the world. There is no official representation of the organization in Moldova. // 14.05.2019 - InfoMarket.
