The Moldovan government did not support the draft Law on State Financial Inspectorate, developed by a group of deputies.
In particular, the Cabinet gave a negative conclusion to the document prepared by the deputies from the European People's Party group to modernize and optimize the activities of the Financial Supervision Authority in order to improve and increase the efficiency of centralized financial control by the Finance Ministry, ameliorate the management of public finances and state property, etc. The deputies proposed to create the State Financial Inspection as an administrative agency under the Ministry of Finance for conducting financial inspections, investigating and countering financial and economic fraud. In turn, the government noted that this bill is actually a decree on the organization and functioning of the State Financial Inspectorate as an administrative structure under the Ministry of Finance, yet the current legislation provides that "administrative structures subordinated to ministries are established, reorganized and abolished by the government on the proposal of the minister". Accordingly, the creation of an administrative structure subordinate to the Ministry, through the law, constitutes a violation of the procedure stipulated by the law on centralized sectoral public administration. // 12/01/2018 — InfoMarket.
