The currency reserves of the NBM decreased in January 2019 by $86.63 million (-2.9%), reaching $2 billion 908.56 million as of January 31, compared with the previous month

According to the National Bank of Moldova, during the reporting period, the following factors influenced the decrease in the official reserve assets of the NBM: interventions in the domestic foreign exchange market in the form of currency sales - $92.7 million; payments related to the servicing of Moldova’s foreign public debt - $13.89 million; net payments relating to the required reserves of licensed banks in foreign currency - $2.72 million; payments of the Ministry of Finance - $1.68 million. At the same time, the following factors contributed to the increase in the official reserve assets: an increase in the exchange rates of currencies that are part of foreign exchange reserves against the US dollar - $14.73 million; profit from managing currency reserves - $4.66 million; the loans and grants for investment projects received by the Ministry of Finance - $4.14 million; revaluation of investment portfolio securities - $0.39 million; net proceeds in favor of the Directorate of the Credit line - $.29 million other net revenues - $0.15 million. // 08.02.2019 - InfoMarket
