In Moldova, fines for violation of customs rules for the import and export of goods across the state border have been tightened.
According to the amendments to the Code of Offenses, the import or export from the territory of Moldova of goods, items and other values through the places established for customs control, by concealing from customs control, by hiding in specially prepared or adapted storage facilities, or by fraudulent use of documents or funds customs identification, either by non-declaration or inaccurate declaration in customs or other documents for crossing the border, is punished in proportion to the value of the transported goods, items and values. So, if the cost of goods is up to 100 thousand lei, then the fine can be from 100 to 500 cu, if from 100 thousand to 200 thousand - from 500 to 900 cu, if from 200 thousand to 400 thousand lei - the fine may amount to 900-1200 cu. If similar actions are detected in places not intended for customs control, the fine is higher - from 200 to 1500 cu, depending on the value of illegally transported goods, items and values. Until now, the maximum fine for such violations has reached 90 cu. If the value of goods transported illegally exceeds 400 thousand lei (and 200 thousand lei, if illegal import / export is carried out outside the customs control zones), then the act is qualified as a crime and is punished in accordance with the Criminal Code. At the same time, collection, possession, production, transportation, acceptance, storage, transfer and sale of goods, items and other valuables subject to placement under customs purposes, if they do not have documents of origin or are imported into the territory of Moldova as through places established for customs control, and through places other than those established for customs control, the fine for violations can range from 500 to 1,500 cu. In addition, fines are set in the amount of 60 to 90 cu. for non-compliance with the conditions of the customs regime for the temporary import of vehicles declared by the action, and the use of such vehicles by other persons than those declared in the declaration.
