Also, this year there will be no increase in domestic gas tariffs in the country, and next year they will possibly decrease. Moldovan President Igor Dodon announced this, noting that he reached the relevant agreements during a meeting in Moscow on September 7 with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The parties discussed various issues of strategic dialogue between our countries, paid special attention to solving the problem of natural gas supplies to Moldova. According to Igor Dodon on his page on the social network, the parties agreed in principle and agreed on further steps for cooperation in the gas industry, which allows us to announce at this stage that domestic tariffs for end consumers will not increase. Thus, starting from October 1, the price of Russian gas supplied to Moldova will decrease. Specific figures for the expected reduction in gas prices have not yet been cited. Igor Dodon expressed his gratitude to the Russian leadership for extending the duty-free regime on the import of 5 categories of Moldovan agricultural products into the Russian market. The head of our state emphasized that due to this, the volume of deliveries of our products has grown significantly in recent months. The President of Moldova noted the importance of holding the first meeting of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation and the second Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum in 3 years. Both events will be held in September in Chisinau. Igor Dodon and Vladimir Putin also examined a range of issues of Moldova’s domestic and foreign policy. The President of the Republic of Moldova emphasized the historical character of the events in our country in early June and thanked Russia for supporting the peaceful transfer of power. According to Igor Dodon, the unique foreign policy consensus around Moldova gives us great chances for the development of the country, as well as for the full implementation of a balanced foreign policy strategy based on maintaining and strengthening the constitutional status of permanent neutrality. In the same context, the President of Moldova told the President of Russia about intensifying contacts with senior representatives of the key external partners of our country (Russia, the EU and the USA), about the results of a recent meeting with the EU and NATO leadership in Brussels and about the upcoming speech at the 74th UN General Assembly. Speaking about the Transnistrian settlement, Igor Dodon emphasized the need to unite the efforts of all the participants in the 5 + 2 negotiation format in order to find an acceptable model for a political settlement of the Transnistrian problem while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova within the internationally acknowledged borders. // 09.09.2019 – InfoMarket
