Within the framework of the 7th stage of the Post-Investment Grants Program “Sustainable Land Management” of the Moldova Agricultural Competitiveness Project (MAC-P), were issued grants amounting to 7.2 million lei.
According to the project MAC-P, beneficiaries became 28 agricultural producers of Moldova, managing 6.5 thousand hectares of land. Grants will cover their expenses for the purchase of No-Till equipment and specialized agricultural equipment. In total in 2014-2018 in the framework of all 7 post-investment grant competitions, were granted 45.6 million lei ($ 2.4 million), the average size of one grant was 237.5 thousand lei. Beneficiaries are 192 farmers out of the total number of 253 applicants for grants. Of the total number of beneficiaries, 15.6% are women. Most beneficiaries (108 farmers) come from the north of Moldova. In the southern region - 53 beneficiaries, in the central - 31 farmer received a grant. The issued grants offset the costs of purchasing 234 pieces of equipment (seeders - 96, sprayers - 47, shredders - 43, combines - 18), as well as the use of sustainable land management methods (construction of 3 erosion ponds, 2 pluvial drainage tanks, etc.). The post-investment grants program “Sustainable Land Management” is a component of the MAC-P project and is funded by the funds of the World Bank, the Government of Sweden and the Global Environment Facility and the Government of Moldova. The amount of the post-investment grant for one farmer will be 50% of his own investment, but not more than $ 20 thousand.
