Since the beginning of 2019, the Agency for Intervention and Payment in Agriculture (AIPA) has approved 440 applications for the issuance of subsidies in the amount of 64.4 million lei.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Construction, in total, to the agency were submitted 887 applications for financial assistance from the state, which is almost 10% more compared to the number of applications received for the same period last year. The majority of applications (272 applications for 28 million lei) were submitted for grants for the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment. At the 2nd place - stimulation of investments in the development of post-harvest and processing equipment - 31 applications for 20 million lei. The allocation of subsidies for the planting of perennials, including the cutting of unproductive crops, was approved on 81 applications for the amount of 7.6 million lei. At the same time, annually 5% of the resources of the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas, which is about 45 million lei, are aimed at providing advance subsidies to young people and women farmers who run their own business for the first time. This year, for the first time, 21 agricultural producers launched their own business, with an investment plan of more than 18 million lei, which will lead to the creation of 70 new jobs. Recall that this year the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas amounts to about 900 million lei. In 2018, AIPA received more than 7.4 thousand applications for financial assistance totaling more than 1 billion lei. As a result of the requested subsidies, it was possible to attract investments in the agro-industrial sector, as well as in adjacent areas in the amount of about 6 billion lei, which is 15% more than the investments of agricultural producers in 2017. Thanks to investments, there were created more than 4.6 thousand jobs.
