Russia will expand the list of Moldovan companies that can supply fruit to the Russian market.
In particular, the Rosselkhoznadzor appealed to the National Food Safety Agency of Moldova with a request to provide an additional list of exporters of apples, pears, quince, apricots, cherries, sweet cherries, peaches, and plums. The requirements for exporters include the availability of production and logistics infrastructure for the supply of their own products and the exclusion of intermediaries. The corresponding National Food Safety Agency' list should be submitted to the Russian side by July 15. In this, the National Food Safety Agency stated that it would review and update requests / applications filed by manufacturers wishing to export their products to the Russian Federation, starting from 2016 to the present. All interested persons must be registered in the National Food Safety Agency information system and included in the annual inspection plan. In addition, agency inspectors will check on-site compliance of economic agents with the conditions set forth. On time, the National Food Safety Agency will send an official letter to Rosselkhoznadzor with an updated list of fruit exporters attached. Earlier, Vice-Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Alexandru Slusari, noted that the list of companies entitled to supply fruit from Moldova to Russia will be significantly updated soon, and mediators will be excluded from it. The corresponding agreement was reached during the meeting of the Moldovan official delegation in Moscow with the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Alexandru Slusar noted that currently the right to export agri-food products to Russia has many intermediary companies that do not own any hectares of orchards and do not have post-harvest infrastructure. The overwhelming majority of the income of farmers grows in their pockets. At the same time, dozens of agricultural enterprises with refrigerators and modern sorting lines cannot be included in this list for subjective reasons.// 11.07.2019 — InfoMarket.
