From October 13 until the end of November, every Saturday, in the 3 sectors of Chisinau, autumn fairs will be held for the sale of fruits and vegetables directly from producers
Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment Nicolae Ciubuc, announced this, noting that the fairs will be open from 9 am until late evening. Initially, they will be organized at Telecentru, near the bridge on the outskirts of the city, in Buiucani sector, on Ion Radu Street near the Arboretum, and also at Riscani, on Andrei Doga Street, near the Manej Sports Complex. The goal of the autumn fairs is to allow manufacturers to present their products directly to the consumer at a reasonable price. The minister regretted that in most markets in Chisinau, fruits and vegetables are sold through intermediaries and producers have limited access to markets. Until now, about 100 manufacturers have expressed willingness to participate in fairs. “If the number of applicants grows, we will establish more places and days for holding fairs,” said the Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment, noting that farmers will not have to pay for a place at the fair, but only need a certificate from the Association of Agricultural Producers, or other supporting documents to prevent the participation of other economic agents. The fairs will be attended by experts from the National Agency for Food Safety. Nicolae Ciubuc specified that if the fairs will be successful in the capital, they will be held in other localities of the country as well. //11.10.2018 - InfoMarket.
