By the end of the year, a new program on the development of horticulture will be elaborated in Moldova with the support of USAID
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment, the goal of the program is to identify the basic needs for the development of horticulture, to coordinate the necessary actions for the development of current markets and access to new markets for horticultural products of Moldova. In this regard, the Office organized a working meeting at which the role and importance of elaborating the program and priorities were discussed. The head of the ministry, Nicolae Ciubuc Chubuk, thanked the development partners for their help in developing a feasibility study, which presents the current situation in the horticulture sector along different parts of the value chain: fruits, table grapes, vegetables and their derivatives, and also determines the role of these data in elaborating gardening development programs in our country. The program is being developed with the support of development partners and a horticultural expert group. “The document will focus on sales opportunities for the production of high-quality fruits and vegetables and will include actions to strengthen the capacity of producers and processors, including infrastructure capabilities: preservation, sorting, sizing and processing. We want this political document to provide a new approach to sectoral development and contribute to improving the competitiveness of products and services,” said Nicolae Ciubuc. //26.10.2018 - InfoMarket.
