
As of the beginning of July 2019, the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) approved 1073 applications for subsidies worth 160 million lei
According to AIPA, the agency received 1760 applications for state financial assistance (326.1 million lei), which is almost 12% more against the number of applications received in the same period last year. Thanks to the investments of agricultural producers, 406 permanent jobs were created and 495 - seasonal jobs. Most applications (790) were submitted for grants to encourage investment in the purchase of equipment. The amount of applications was 85.2 million lei (621 applications were approved for 65.5 million lei; 1,275 units of machnery and equipment were purchased). Next follow the applications for stimulation of investments in the planting of perennial plants, including cutting down of unproductive crops - 549 applications for 81.5 million lei (197 applications for 25.2 million lei were approved; 290 million lei were invested in 1,193 hectares of land). Also, agricultural producers submitted applications for financial assistance for the development of post-harvest and processing equipment - 143 applications for 109 million lei (79 applications for 44.5 million lei were approved). Also, according to AIPA, the majority of applications for subsidies were received from the northern region of the country - 649 applications for 112 million lei, which generated investments of 444 million lei. Next follows the southern region, including Gagauzia with 584 applications for 121.2 million lei, which generated 358.9 million lei of investments. From the central region there were received 527 applications for 92.1 million lei, which attracted investments of 296 million lei. As previously reported, in 2018, AIPA received more than 7.4 thousand applications for financial assistance totaling more than 1 billion lei. As a result of the requested subsidies, it was possible to attract investments totaling about 6 billion lei in the agro-industrial sector, as well as in adjacent areas, which is 15% more than the investments of agricultural producers in 2017. Thanks to investments, more than 4.6 thousand jobs were created.
